came up on a very small apartment to live in before the weekend. no more college backpackers and bunkbeds...
stoked!
mackenzie and i caught on very quickly that "networking" is essential to becoming parisiens: 1). we found our new place from a friend of a friend of a friend of his parents (we heard about it literally the night before we hopped on the plane from nice). it's 12 meters squared (smaller than my old room at armacost). but having been designed very efficiently, our place has room for a stove, fridge, shower and toilet, plus a bed that doubles as our sofa. yes, yes, it's humble, but very cute nonetheless; 2). and thank heavens for the apt., because without a paris address, it's impossible to get a work permit. 3). but without a work contract, it's impossible to rent an apt. here. hmmm.. how does that work? exactly, it doesn't. welcome to paris.
anyway, i can safely say that for the next month our new home is located in the 18th arrondisement, monmartre, literally just to right of the sacre coeur (think amelie). it's lovely. we're ridiculously lucky.
. . .
am reading this book that britt lent me called the celestine prophecy. it's very exciting. am also learning to have a serious interest in footbal. although the buzz around town these days is the nba brawl in detroit over the weekend. stupid stern. take your fucking money. i heart ronnie forever.
