lighta

peaceful easy feelings.

i'm surrounded by amazing women.
triangle type shit.
a constant exchange of empowerment.
bees.

what's interesting about working on to and from right now is the living-and-breathing aspect of it. it's so goddamn literal. the very things i'm researching, the data i'm collecting, and the stories that i hear in relation to filipinos and HIV/AIDS - i witness & observe it everyday. it's in front of me. my family, friends. friends of family & friends. and it's intense. emotional. urgent. inescapable.

results:
humility
appreciation

in search of victory she keeps eluding me
if only we can be together momentarily
we can make love and make history
why wont you visit me? until she visit me

female situation

april was all about my health. my body rules me. and i got checked into accidentally experiencing LA county health care.

but how that all happened actually started with a pretty harrowing exchange with the old man. progressive nonetheless. a personal milestone. très luke-darth vader experience.

so american health care. i was so jolted by what i observed i knew i had to write it down as i saw it... no way i'd have energy to remember any of those details otherwise as it was that unreasonable.

4:20pm
LAC-USC medical center
emergency unit.

- metal detector - no cameras allowed.
- capacity of main waiting room full.. about 200 m² -standing room only
- earliest time they can see me is in 24 hours
- can't leave
- RN to call name every 2-6 hours to check on your current status, you're not dying.
- if not there when they call after 2 tries, your registration's void

do i qualify for registration
- 3 RNs bilingual
- i'm sitting here w/ b brief bag

1. RN does quick check-up (blood pressure, temp, makes chart.
2. go into another room - "request for registration"

*what is medi-cal? ORSA?
3. registered -> waiting room -> no windows/crammed
4. yelling out names - no sound system - over 200 patients waiting - someone yells that they can't hear, speak louder. everyone has to be quiet.
